Hey, it’s Mike. Just posted a new video with a few things every homeowner should know in 2025, basically a quick Home Electric 101, no fluff. Whether you just moved in or you’ve been in your house for years, these quick checks can save you some headaches (and a service call).
I go over how to properly reset a tripped breaker, and no, it’s not just flipping it back on. You’ve got to push it all the way off first, then back on to really reset it. I also cover GFCIs, those outlets that trip in bathrooms, garages, or outside. If you’ve ever lost power in one spot and didn’t know why, it’s probably that.
We talk smoke detectors too, if yours are more than 10 years old or you’re still replacing batteries every few months, it’s time to switch to the 10-year battery models. Way easier.
And for my fellow San Diego homeowners driving electric, I touch on what you really need to know before you install a charger. It’s not just about having the plug, you need the right breaker and wiring or you’re asking for trouble.
